Marching Band FAQs

 

WHO CAN JOIN?

Students attending Green Hope High School or 

WAKE EARLY COLLEGE

OF INFORMATION AND BIOTECHNOLOGIES

student can join the Marching Band. Please email cflowers@wcpss.net to get more information. Access the 2023 GH Band information packet here.

 

Brass and Woodwinds: Student who play a brass or woodwind instrument.

 

Percussion and Front Ensemble: Students who play a percussion instrument will complete a percussion audition.  We're also looking for students with piano experience to join the front ensemble.

 

Color Guard: No experience necessary, but dance experience a plus.  Please fill out this form to register your interest and get more information.

 

Are there auditions?

Auditions/Clinics are in April, but if you missed them, just get in touch with the band director Mr. Flowers and he'll get you plugged into the process. 

HOW DO I JOIN?

The Registration packet will be online 1 week before registration night.  Go to My Account and follow the steps to Create an Account or Login. After completing the steps you will see the Registration Packet.

Schedules vary by section and are subject to change at any time.  The best way to keep on top of things is to reference the calendar.

 

 

WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A DAY?

Review the attendance policy.  Report absences in advance using this form GH Bands Absence Form

 

What should i bring to band camp?

  1. First Aid kit - fully stocked*! Suggestions: antibacterial ointment (neosporin), anti-itch cream, moleskin (for blisters), band-aids, pain medication (advil/tylenol, allergy medication. *Chaperones can only provide ice and band-aids.
  2. Medications required/recommend by your Physician, such as Inhaler, anaphylactic meds, migraine meds, allergy meds, etc.
  3. Hat
  4. Light-colored, athletic clothing
  5. Sunglasses
  6. Sunscreen…applied before you start to burn!
  7. 32-ounce insulted water jug with a strap for carrying. This will stay with you on the field while you practice
  8. Athletic shoes and a few pairs of socks. NO sandals, flip-flops, or backless shoes. It’s extremely important to have proper footwear and socks for comfort, protection, and the prevention of blisters. EXTRA SOCKS WILL BE YOUR FRIEND AT CAMP.
  9. Bring lunch each and every day in a personal cooler or insulated lunch bag. Refrigeration is not provided.
  10. Instrument and instrument supplies
  11. Three-ring binder, pen, pencil, paper, music
  12. Dot Book (Provided at band camp)

HOW CAN I UPDATE MY CONTACT INFORMATION?

Login to the website and click My Account --> Parent and Student Information.

HOW CAN I CHECK MY ACCOUNT BALANCE?

Login to your band account and then click on "My Account", "Update My Account", "Account Balance"

 

WHEN ARE FAIR SHARE PAYMENTS DUE?

(Estimates based on last year.  Subject to change.)

First Payment + any items ordered at registration due on/before enrollment night 
2nd Payment due on/before Day 1 of Band Camp 
3rd Payment due on/before 1st Day of School
Final Payment due on/before 1st Competition 


HOW CAN I MAKE A PAYMENT?

Online is preferred.  Online: Login to the website and click My Account.In Person: Drop your check in the Green Box outside the director's office.By Mail: Green Hope High School Band Boosters, PO Box 358, Morrisville NC 27560 Please mark the memo line of your checks with purpose and student name.
 

HOW CAN I SEE MY ACCOUNT BALANCE AND MAKE A PAYMENT?

 Login to your account Once you are logged in - you will see a light blue box on your screen that says "Notice: You have one or more orders with a balance due. Click here to pay" Note, Marching Band Fair Share payments are due according the schedule above.  It is normal to have a balance due at the beginning of the season. 
  • Click on Click here to pay
  • Orders with Balance Due are listed in a box
  • Click on the Order Number to make a payment
  • Click on make a payment now
  • Follow the instructions to make payment
  • An email confirmation of payment will be sent - check your spam folder if you do not receive confirmation

HOW CAN I APPLY A STUDENT CREDIT TO MY ACCOUNT BALANCE?

 If you have a credit on your students account (example from fundraising efforts), once you are logged in you will be able to see this credit on your account 
  • Orders with Balance Due are listed in a box
  • Click on the Order Number to make a payment
  • Click on 'make a payment now'
  • If you have a credit, Click on 'apply credit to order'
  • Click on 'Apply credit to order now'
  • Order will show with your credit applied and any remaining balance due
  • Follow the instructions to make payment on balance due
  • An email confirmation of payment will be sent - check your spam folder if you do not receive confirmation
